Happy New Year!!

The birthday girl smiling with her sweets!

Rocking out with a crazy Dad to our new Rock Band game. I am not sure who enjoys it more, the kids or Kreg?

Is it okay that he already knew what to do with the champagne glass? Happy and S*A*F*E New Year to all!

Birthday Fun!

Here is Kelsey's embarrassed face after the Red Robin singers had serenaded her with "Happy Birthday" moments after I promised that I wouldn't tell them it was her birthday (fingers crossed).

It's official! We have an eleven year old in the house. Tonight we will celebrate her birthday at our house with a little family party. She had a sleepover last night at her mom's house. When your birthday is in December, you get to celebrate for awhile longer to make up for it being so close to Christmas- I've been told :) Back to back parties!!

Happy Birthday Kelsey!!!

6 kids smiling at once! Priceless!

Here are all the McCoy kids! Chase, Ryan, Trevor, Sydney, Kelsey and Colt! We took these photos for Grandma Margaret and Papa Denny for Christmas so I thought I could post them now that they've seen them. They all did a great job smiling at the same time.
Today is Kelsey's 11th birthday...wow!! So we're celebrating having such a wonderful step-daughter, daughter, sister and wonderful-sweet-girl in our lives! We're so blessed to have her, and we'll be sure to post some fun birthday photos tomorrow.

Christmas

Christmas morning rainbow!

This picture is funny because it looks like he was reading the card :)

We had a really nice Christmas, and we hope you did too! Here are some pictures of Christmas morning. I've been a bad blogger, because I was blessed with the flu yesterday so I have been out for the count! Kreg has been Mr. Mom, and he's doing a great job so I can rest and keep some distance from Colt. Here's hoping he doesn't get it and his two flu shots work!

Christmas Eve

After the festivities, Colt was pooped! Here's my pops hanging with our tired boy.

Angelina let Colt explore her Santa chair. Suzanne (her mom, my brother's momma) tried to give it to us but she wasn't ready to part with it this year.

Here's Uncle Austin, my brother, having a nice chat with Colt.

Suzanne and Rich said that since they have been buying everybody cars lately (my brother just got his first car) that maybe they should go ahead and buy one for Colt too. So he got his first car: a cadillac escalade.

This is the only photo I have of these three together! Grammie and Poppa.

Colt and his Dad, both looking extra handsome! Hope everyone had a great Christmas Eve and a wonderful Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas Eve

We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! I have been lazy about blogging lately, nothing really happening in our house right now! We're thankful and blessed to share our first Christmas with Colt at home.

Vacation!

Colt was helping with make-up....what a good boy :)

We have Colt blocked off from the Christmas Tree which means it has become his mission in life to find a way to get to the tree. He has come very close! After tomorrow we get two weeks off of therapy and Colt's teacher as they are all off for the holiday weeks on our usual days. I don't know what we'll do with ourselves!

Books and a messy face

Lately, Colt needs to be hosed off after a meal. We're talking in the hair, ears, everywhere!

A BIG thank you to Jon and Nicole (Anthony and Kaylee too!) for all the books....Colt LOOOOVES his books. Especially this Elmo puppet book!!

Splish! Splash!

Our bath tub has a leak so I decided to put Colt in the sink for a bath (I had no idea what I was in for!). The entire kitchen and myself were soaked....but he sure had fun!

Grandma Margaret got the kids matching Christmas Jammies so we had to take a photo to capture the cuteness :)

Giggles

I forgot to post this little cute video last week when we went to the park! Kels knows how to get him laughing!

So cute

I know every mother thinks that every small thing their child does is adorable... but I wanted to capture this little thing Colt does in his exersaucer since he's pretty much outgrown it. I love watching his little hand turn the spinner. He sits and watches it so intensely.

Just Ducky

The San Diego Blood Bank wanted to use Colt for a Duck Themed Fundraiser they are doing, and asked me to snap some photos of him with ducks. So here was my best shot at it.....a few came out pretty cute (I did take over 50 photos to get like 5 or 6 good ones!) He's a pretty cute model! He was showing the grumpy face, so we had to put him in his happy place to get some smiles (the bath tub). The kid loooooves water.

Good Little Guy

Here's Colt with our pal Bryan from Canada. Colt braved a 2 hour lunch with us a few days ago, and he did great! He's actually quite the well-behaved little guy at a restaurant (I am sure that will eventually change- enjoy while it lasts).

Mama

Colt said MAMA!!! He has mumbled it before in a babbling sort of way, but this time Kelsey had him saying it over and over on command. Soooooo cute.....love every minute of it. This wasn't the best video of it, by the time I found the camera he was sort of over it.

Reason for the Season

Every year Christmas time gets crazier and crazier (in my opinion). It's so easy to get caught up in the lights, music, and crazy hectic shopping. I am guilty of it too, but I really feel convicted to get away from that and try to focus on what this time of year is really about. I wanted to start a tradition in our family that every year we choose a cause of some kind and "adopt" it for Christmas. I let Kelsey choose this year, and God love her- she chose the animals at our local shelter. So we went and she picked out a bunch of Christmas presents for the animals: chew toys, dog food, cat food, and treats. We delivered the goods and spent some time at the shelter talking to the animals and giving them a little love. I came *this* close to taking one home, whoops. It was a really nice day, and I told Kelsey she should be very proud of herself for doing such a good deed. And later she said..."I did a good deed today."

Kelsey especially wanted a photo with this kitty, because she was thinking maybe we could take her home. If you're in the market- she was an absolute doll.

Here's Colt in the cat house, watching all the kitties!

Here's the pup I almost took home. It's a yellow lab, and only one year old. If anyone needs a dog or cat- the animal shelter is packed with loads of sweet animals that need a home for Christmas!

Who the heck are you??

We went to see Santa last night at the POA's tree lighting ceremony. Colt was way too concerned with figuring out who this guy was, so forget looking at the camera! We had a fun Holiday evening, and then topped it off with getting and decorating our Christmas Tree! 19 Days Until Christmas.......wow.

Patricia is so fun!

Patricia brings the most creative "toys" to play with. Here is Colt scooping rice out of the bowl. Just some fun sensory skills.

Here's Colt flinging that rice all over the living room :)

And eating the spoon.

And last, playing with the milk jug. He loves anything that isn't really a toy- go figure.

Fun at the Park

Clearly, I love to take pictures (even though I have no clue what I am doing). I just love pictures. So I saw a pile of leaves and thought- photo op?

Today we went and had some fun at the park.....here are the kiddies on the swings.

We stayed 'til dark!

Look at the pretty sky!!
